Jeffrey Tambor aka Jeffrey Michael Tambor is an American actor, a voice actor, and a lecturer. He had won Prime Time Emmy Award for the Outstanding Lead Actor in a comedy series The Transparent and earned four Emmy Award nominations for the show of Larry Sanders. He is best known for his role on the Larry Sanders Show as Kingsley. The most recent role played by him is Morton on Transparent, for which he received the Primetime Emmy Award for the Outstanding Lead Actor in the Comedy Series and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Television Series in 2015. He is maintaining his name and fame in the industry for nearly four years.
Jeffrey was born in San Francisco in California to Eileen and Michael Bernard, a contractor. He has brought up in a conservative Jewish family. He is also a graduate of San Francisco State University, and he received his master degree from Wayne State University. When he was 11 years old, he began to gain serious interest in acting, taking the classes on acting and refining his skills. He made his debut in Sly Fox (1976). After three years, he has done a big screen debut in Norman Jewson’s And Justice For All. In this movie, he made a strong dramatic impression by featuring himself as Al Pacino’s half maniac law partner. He later acted in a leading role on the Three’s Company Spin-Off, The Ropers.
In 1982, he enacted The Dream Chasers movie, which includes friendship, integrity, and exoneration directed by Arthur R Dubs. In 1983, he featured in a comedy-drama Mr. Mom directed by Stan Dragoti where the husband becomes bound to the home by switching off with his wife and has no idea of how to do house chores. He also made some guest like appearances in T.V shows like M*A*S*H in 1982, and Doogie Howser in 1989. He signed on to a series with , and Twenty Good Years about the two men who ponder the last twenty years Of their life after the revocation of American development T.V show in 2006.
Besides these, for several years, based upon his availability Tambour also taught a popular class for actors. He was a former senior professor of acting coach Milton Katselas. In 2014, he acted in a lead role as a transgender women in Amazon Online Series Transparent which is directed by Jill Soloway where his role is a retired lecturer in a college, and who was finally opened up to her family about always identifying as women. At that time, Tambour told to Daily Mail Australia exclusively that he was throw-up nervous for weeks. He has also voiced Torvald Utne in the episode Killing Utne, and Len Trexler on Archer.He enacted in How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) which he has featured as Mayor of Whoville.
In 2012, he co-starred as Walt who is the aspiring musician’s father on the sitcom “Bent”.He again successfully returned to the season 4 of Arrested Development show in May 2013. Tambour has five children. He divorced his first wife Katie Mitchell in 2000 was married to Kasia Ostlun in October 2001, and surprisingly his second child and first grandchild were born within a few days gap of each other in December 2004. In 2007, Tambour was reported to be a Scientologist. Tambour is a Democrat and supported Barack Obama, the president of USA during his re-election campaign in 2012.
