Born in North Adams, Massachusetts, Frank Vincent is an American actor, musician, author, and entrepreneur. He initially wanted to be a musician, mostly because he was pretty good at playing instruments like, piano, trumpet, and drums. However, fate had other plans for him, considering that he starred in the movie, “The Death Collector” and finally chose the path of acting. Director,
was really enthralled by Frank Vincent and therefore approached him to star in the movie, “The Raging Bull” in the year 1980, alongside, Robert de Niro and Joe Pesci.
Further down the line, he was a part of two movies, the roles weren’t as consequential; the movies were, “Do the Right Thing”, and “Jungle Fever”, in the year 1989 and 1991 respectively. His presence in the foreign movie, “Made in Argentina”, in which his role was to play a man named, “Vito”, who is an affluent Manhattan businessman who becomes friends with the Argentine American substance misuse therapist who counsels his son, was quite noteworthy. Some of the movies in which he played the role of a gangster are, “Goodfellas” (1990), and “Casino” (1995), both of which were Martin Scorsese’s films. Then, he appeared in the hih-hop artist, Nas’ music video for the song, “Street Dreams”, again as a gangster.
He once again became a ruthless gangster in the HBO television series, “The Sopranos”; he had one of the most important roles in the show. It’s like he has a copyright on the character of a gangster! He must have really wanted to be one all that time, didn’t he? In the year 1999, he earned the “Italian American Entertainer of the Year Award”. Then in the year 2003, he enacted remarkably in the movie, “Remedy”. He lent his voice in the video game, “Grand Theft Auto 3” as the mafia boss, Salvatore Leone (there we go with the gangster theme again!).
As an author, he launched his book, “A Guy’s Guide to Being a Man’s Man” in the year 2006. Moreover, he idolises Dean Martin (American singer, comedian, actor). He was the main character in the movie, “Chicago Overcoat” in the year 2009.
