Shemar Moore is a hunk actor and a fashion model. He was born as Shemar Franklin Moore on April 20, 1970 at Oakland, California in U.S. to Marilyn Wilson and Sherrod Moore. His father is an African-American while his mother came from a French-Canadian lineage. When he was just a baby, he moved to Denmark along with his mother. At four, he moved to Bahrain and studied in a British private school until he reaches the age of 7. Shemar cited civil unrest, integrated taboo relationships and racism in United States in year 1970, so he moved in U.S. with his mother. In 1977, they returned to California and later moved to . He graduated at Gunn High School and later studied at Santa Clara University with a major in Communications. He has done some modeling too to pay his bills.

He bagged the role of Malcolm Winters for eight years in the soap opera, The Young and the Restless, where he earned many nominations and awards like the Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Drama Series at the Image Award from 1998 to 2000 and in 2001, 2002 and 2005. He also got the same award at the Daytime Award in 2000.

In 2004, made his comeback in the soap but the original plan was to leave the show. He left the show in September 2005. From 2000 to 2003, Shemar hosted the musical variety show, Soul Train and later acted as Terry White in the romantic comedy film, The Brothers in 2001. From 2002 to 2003, he played as Jesse Reese, an honest detective in the drama series, Birds of Prey. He was starred as Emery Simms in the thriller film, Motives which stars Vivica Fox. He has done a supporting role in the romantic comedy film, Diary of a Mad Black Woman in 2003.He was cast as Trent, the boyfriend of Jhnelle (played by ) in the musical film, The Seat Filler. Shemar was cast as Derek Morgan, a Supervisory Special Agent in the police-procedural television show, Criminal Minds.

The actor gained many fans on his modeling stints which he often shows his shirtless body in an erotic shot. Shemar has also done films like Hav Plenty in 1997, How to Marry a Billionaire: A Christmas Tale in 2000, Chasing Alice in 2003, Nikki and Nora in 2004, Kill Me, Deadly in 2013 and more. He also voiced the character of Victor Stone/Cyborg in the direct-to-video : War in 2014 and a recurring role in the upcoming Justice League: Throne of Atlantis in 2015.
