Elijah Wood

Elijah Jordan Wood is an actor from Hollywood, and is also a film producer and DJ, born on 28th January 1981, to the father, Warren Wood, and mother, Debbie Wood in Cedar Rapids, U.S. He is of English, Austrian, German, Danish and Polish ancestry. He has an elder brother named Zachariah Wood, a video game producer, and a younger sister named Hannah Wood. Elijah started modeling at the age of seven, in his hometown and even pursued piano lessons. He worked at an elementary school in The Sound of Music. He was a critically acclaimed child actor, at the age of nine.

Elijah achieved his first acting opportunity in Paula Abdul’s music video 'Forever Your Girl'. Though he has appeared in many films, he is recognized for his role of Frodo Baggins in Peter Jackson’s epic trilogy The Lord of the Rings (that released between the years 2001-2003). It got positive reviews from critics, and it even became the highest grossing trilogy film of all time. He won many awards including the Empire Award for the Best Actor for The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001), and the Visual Effects Society Award for Best Performance in its second sequel and the Best Actor Award at the Saturn Awards event in 2004 for its third sequel. Thus, this trilogy film helped him gain more recognition and appreciation.

Apart from acting, Elijah has also lent his voice for the lead character, Mumble (a penguin) in the animated musical films Happy Feet (2006) and Happy Feet Two Click to look into! >> Read More... (2011). Elijah worked as a producer for many movies including the horror comedy Cooties (2014). He even worked as an assistant director for a short film. In 2005, Elijah launched his record label named Simian Records and released its first album ‘New Magnetic’ in February 2007. He even directed the ‘Energy’ music video. This veteran actor owns a collection of 4000 vinyl records and CD’s. He is a supporter of Keep a Child Alive and Youth Aids. In August 2003, he suffered from acute appendicitis and got hospitalized.
