Dwight Yoakam

Dwight David Yoakam is an outstanding singer, lyric writer, actor and movie director. Yoakam was born in Kentucky, the USA to an ordinary family and then he was brought up in Columbus where he completed studies. His interest towards music and drama started during his childhood days onwards.

Later Yoakam moved to Los Angeles and started writing some songs and performed in traditional country music channels. He did several shows. “Guitars, Cadillacs. Etc., Etc” was his debut. “Honky Tonk Man” and “Buenas Noches from a Lonely Room” are his consecutive albums. Johnny Cash and Chris Isaak appreciated his remarkable talent. And then he performed Elvis Presley-style of music which includes Queen - “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” and also “Suspicious Minds.” Then came the albums The Clash - “Train in Vain”, “Truckin” and “I Want You to Want Me” that are famous. 
He also played with his instruments some shows like “A Thousand Miles from Nowhere”. After getting enough fame, he started his label. And then he started collaborating with many others like Michelle Branch and Buck Owen. His “Beck 3 Pears” earned him very high acclaims among the critics and also reached the top most level on the Americana Radio in Oct 2012. He then did a new studio album named “Second Hand Heart” which was delivered on April 2015.  

Dwight’s venture as a producer has crossed twenty-one albums and compilations. Above thirty singles were sold on the “Billboard Hot Country Songs charts”. Yoakam had been an accomplished actor too. He acted in several movies like “Sling Blade”, “Panic Room” and many films. Besides, Yoakam owns “Bakersfield Biscuits” which sells frozen food at Sams Club, Kroger, Walgreens, and Wal-mart.
