Dennis Waterman was born youngest of nine children to Harry Frank Waterman and Rose Juliana on 24th February 1948 in Clapham, London, England. His siblings include Peter, Ken, Norma, Stella, and Myrna. He is an English singer and actor. His father Harry Frank Waterman worked for the British Railways as a Ticket Collector. His two siblings Vera and Joy had left home by the time Dennis was born. One of his siblings Allen had died as a young child never reaching adulthood. Dennis Waterman was introduced to boxing as a child, and it soon became a big part of his childhood.

His father was an amateur boxer. His older brother Peter was a welterweight boxing champion. His other oldest brother Ken took Dennis boxing when he was only three years old. When Dennis turned ten, he joined the Caius Boxing Club. Dennis Waterman did his primary schooling at Granard Primary School which was located on the other Ashburton Estate in Putney, South-West London. He continued his education at an independent school called Corona Stage School which was located in Ravenscourt Park in Hammersmith, West London. Waterman’s acting career spans over a time period of 50 years. His acting career started during his childhood with his first role in Night Train for Inverness which was released in the year 1960.

He later on appeared in two small stage roles for the 1960 season of the Royal Shakespeare Company. Starting from child roles in films and theatre he moved onto advanced adult roles in television shows, films and West East theatre. He is known for his tough-guy roles he has played in various films and television shows. For instance Scars of Dracula a horror film, Colditz an adventure film, Fair Exchange a comedy film, Minder a comedy-drama film, Windy City a musical and The World Cup: A Captain’s Tale a sports film. He has also played the role of a policeman in the television show The Sweeney.

He has totally appeared in more than 25 films. Dennis Waterman has been married four times in total. His first wife, Penny Dixon, he married in 1967 yet their marriage ended in 1976. His second wife was Patricia Maynard whom he married in 1977 and had two daughters with. In ten years he divorced her too. He later married Rula Lenska the same year he divorced Patricia and divorced Rula soon after in 1998. He is presently married to Pam Flint whom he married in 2011.
