Justin Chadwick is an actor-cum-director in films and television media. But he is better known for his work in two biographical films; one movie was based on the life sketch of South African President Mandela and another biopic was on a Guinness book record holder KimaniMaruge. This English actor has made his debut in a film ‘London Kills Me’, directed by Hanif Kureishi, which released in 1991. He is one of the most under-rated actors who has acted in box-office failure films mostly. Later in 1999, he acted in a film directed by Mike Figgis.
Mike Figgis made a film 'The Loss of Sexual Innocence' in which he had a supporting cast. On television, he is known for acting in several British drama series such as ‘Heartbeat’ and ‘Dangerfield’ and many others. Later on, he directed some Shakespearean drama in television. His breakthrough came in 2013 when he directed a British- South African biopic movie based on South African President Nelson Mandela. This movie was named 'Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom' and the role of Mandela was played by a British actor Idris Elba.
The movie was critically appreciated, and even the actor did full justice to the role of Mandela. Earlier, in the year 2010, he directed a movie named ‘The First Grader,' a biopic on of KimaniMaruge. It is said that Kimani holds a Guinness Records for joining primary grade at the age of 84. However, the director became more popular for directing a BBC TV series ‘Bleak House’ which was nominated for BAFTA award and the TV series won the British Academy of Television Awards.
His upcoming movie will be 'Tulip Feer' which is expected to release on July 15, 2016. He was born on December 6, 1968.
