Christian Berkel is a veteran German actor. He has appeared in many famous German movies. He was born in Berlin; his father was a military doctor in World War II. His mother came from a Jewish family. He moved to Paris to take the drama lesson at the age of 14. He took drama lessons from Jean-Louis Barrault and Pierre Berlin. He later went on to train at the German Film and Television Academy in Berlin. He performed at various venues such as Augsburg, Dusseldorf, Munich, Vienna, and at the Schiller Theatre. He performed with great heart in many plays and enjoyed working in theatre. He went on to start his film career with The Serpent’s Egg in 1977 and has never looked back from there. He went on to appear in many movies and TV serials but was liked by all. His work in film Downfall as Dr. Ernst-Gunther Schenck was appreciated by all.
