Bruce Dern, an American actor, is often seen in numerous supporting roles in movies. Bruce was born to parents, John and Jean Dern in Chicago. Dern was born in an affluent family where his grandfather served as the Secretary of War of the United States, his uncle, Archibald MacLeish was a poet, and he was also the great-grandson of Andrew MacLeish. Adlai Stevenson, the two-time Presidential candidate, was Dern's Godfather. The Choate School and the University of Pennsylvania are the places where he pursued his education. Before setting foot in cinemas, Bruce Dern starred in the play Waiting for Godot, at its Philadelphia premiere. In the year 1960, Dern was cast in Wild River alongside Lee Remick and Montgomery Clift. Route 66 marked the debut of Dern's television career. The decade of the 1960s also saw him in Naked City, Sea Hunt, Surf Side 6, Thriller, The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, 77 Sunset Strip, and The Outer Limits. The ABC-produced “Stoney Burke" featured a special appearance by Dern as E.J. Stocker. In the year 1964, Alfred Hitchcock cast him in Marnie as a sailor. In the same year, Dern pocketed roles in "Hush Hush” and Sweet Charlotte. In the years that followed, he was seen in television serials such as Wagon Train, Rawhide, The Virginian, and "12 O'Clock," The F.B.I, The Fugitive, Bonanza, The Big Valley, and "Gunsmoke."

In the latter half of the 1960s, Dern featured in movies such as The Wild Angels, Clint Eastwood's "Hang 'Em High," The Trip The Trip aired on Bindass is a story of four girlf >> Read More... , The War Wagon, Psych-Out, and Will Penny. In 1972, Dern pocketed roles in The Cowboys, Silent Running and The King of Marvin Gardens. Dern was presented with an Academy Award nomination for " Coming Home" where he was cast as Captain Bob Hyde. “Family Plot” which was Alfred Hitchcock's final movie also saw Dern in a supporting role. The year 1983 presented him with a Silver Bear Award for the Best Actor for his work in "That Championship Season" at the 33rd Berlin International Film Festival. Dern was bestowed with a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star in 2010. In the following year, at The Gold Coast International Film Festival, Dern was presented with a Legend Award. 2013 also saw Dern pocket nominations for a Golden Globe and an Academy Award and was adjudged the Best Actor at the Cannes Film Festival for his role in " Nebraska."
