Sinaéd Rushe is a multidisciplinary artist and theatre director working in performance.She works as an artistic director of a theatre company out of Inc. She was born in Newry, Northern Ireland, and studied English and French at Trinity College, Dublin. She won a scholarship to study a DEA in Theatre and Choreography at the Ecole Normale Supérieure, Paris, and the University of Paris VIII-St.Denis under the direction of Patrice Pavis.Then she moved to London to train as an actor at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Currently, she is working as a Senior Lecturer in Acting and Movement on BA Acting CDT, Central School of Speech and Drama, London.
She also teaches the faculty of Michael Chekhov Association USA (MICHA) and has taught workshops internationally (National Theatre of Wales, National Studio, London, English National Opera, Arts International Bangkok, Dirks Theatre, Macau, China, Icelandic Academy of Art). She directed a performance film,Antigone NOW, as well as teaching a series of masterclasses in directing Shakespeare.She is also a former winner of All-Ireland and Ulster Irish dance championships.
She is best known as the voice of Judy, Tweenies, Tell Tale Productions (BBC TV); Muller Corners campaign, TWBA (ITV); The Unfinished Films of David G, narrator, Jackman Films (Independent); Looking after Doodles, narrator, storybook on tape (BBC Worldwide); Brand New ChooChoo, narrator, storybook on tape (BBC Worldwide); I’ll Huff and I’ll Puff, narrator, storybook on tape (BBC Worldwide). She has published a book Michael Chekhov’s Acting Technique: A Practitioner’s Guide (Bloomsbury Methuen, 2019).
