David Sant born in Catalonia, Spain on 8th July 1968 is a Spanish director, mime artist, acrobat, puppeteer, stuntman and a writer. Sant moved to the UK in the 1990s, where began performing as a mime artist, acrobat and puppeteer. His outstanding physical talent began his career as a stuntman and directed him to the creation of several groups in Physical Theatre. For this intention, awards presented to him by international festivals added an accomplishment in recognizing his talent. In, 2006 the BBC saw his potential and decided to jump-start him onto television. Since then, he has transitioned into directing sitcoms and comedy dramas.
He produced popular shows like Home, Jonathan creek, Bluestone 42 and Benidorm. Sant is also recognized for his part as Cartoon Head in the British television series Ideal, as well as playing the title role and the other male roles in Pingu’s season 5-6 resurrection. He also appeared in theatrical roles, Mindbender, presented by the theatre company Peepolykus and All in the timing by David Ives, also presented by Peepolykus. Sant found his love of theatre at the age of seventeen, thanks to the influence of his literary teacher. Inspired by Buster Keaton’s comedic genius and Jackie Chan’s physical abilities, he chose to attend a drama school. His one-man show, The Titanic, The Doctor, and Mussolini, which he performed at the Edinburgh Festival, highlighted his diverse abilities.
