Preston is an American film Director working in the Hollywood. He came to Los Angeles via his hometown of Wheeling, West Virginia. Preston holds an MFA in Production from the USC School of Cinematic Arts and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University. He and his writing partner Trysta A. Bissett are currently writing a feature for Mar Vista Entertainment.
His short film The Big Production won a Student Emmy for Best Comedy, screened at the DGA as one of USC’s six outstanding films of its year, and has played at film festivals worldwide. Preston’s full-time job is in development at HBO Miniseries and Cinemax, where he’s worked on dozens of projects, including The Knick from director Steven Soderbergh and the upcoming miniseries Olive Kitterige starring Frances McDormand.
He won the Richard D. Parsons Award, a Time Warner-wide honor that acknowledges outstanding community service, for his work with the Young Storytellers Foundation. Preston and Trysta are currently in prep for a micro-budget horror feature to be filmed on location in Michigan.
