Gaël Métroz is a film director, screenwriter, and producer. He has done his Master’s degree in philosophy in History of Arts from the University of Lausanne- UNIL from 1998 to 2004. Coming to his experience, he worked as a journalist in Crfj for over one year till October 2009. He worked as a journalist for eight years, from 2004 to 2012. He has also worked as a journalist in RTS- Radio Television Suisse. He is a Co-founder of Liddes. He has worked in EPYC FILMS Sà rl as a film director and screenwriter since 2013.
He is known for his films L'Afrique De Rimbaud in 2008, Nomad’s Land- Sur Les Traces De Nicolas Bouvier in 2008, Kalash- Les Derniers Infidèles du Pakistan in 2010, Sâdhu in 2012, and Black Turban in 2018. He has won various awards like Best Feature Golden Gate Award at San Francisco International Film Festival in 2009, Audience Award at festival Planeta, Mexico in 2009, Best Director award at Festival of Qinghai, China in 2009, Best feature at Festival of Qinghai, China in 2009, Audience Award at Rassegna Internazionale Cinema Archeologico in Italy in 2010, and Grand Prix at Festival Curieux Voyageur in St Etienne, France in 2011.
