Ruben Samuel Fleischer is a film director, television producer, film producer, commercial director, and music video director from the United States. He was born on October 31, 1974, in Washington, DC, USA. Currently, he lives in Montclair, New Jersey. He started his professional career in the year 2000. He was born to Karen Lee and David Elliot Fleischer, a physician at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona and a professor of medicine. He has an older brother, Lucas, who works in new media. He graduated in history from Wesleyan University. He also worked as a freelance HTML programmer. Taking the recommendation of close buddy Mike White, Fleischer worked as a PA inside the writers' workplace of Dawson's Creek.
He subsequently grew to become a director and worked his way through the industry, tackling short movies and TV advertisements earlier than touchdown on his first feature film, Zombieland, in 2009.
