After his best friend was murdered, he starting performing on the streets as a comedian. In 1994, Tracy made his first notable contribution on the small screen with the TV series Martin. Since then, he has seen a huge amount of success in his career, winning two Emmy awards and two Image awards, with more than fifty major credits to his name as an actor.

Apart from the success, Tracy has regularly been a part of various controversies, as he made offensive remarks about females and homosexuals in 2011. He has also had accidents and career-threatening injuries, but somehow, he has been able to manage.
