William Ray Engvall Jr., Also known as Bill Engvall, is a popular English comedian. Born in a coastal city of Texas, Bill never thought that one day he would become a comedian. As a child, he wanted to become a teacher. He graduated at Richardson High School and went to Southwestern University in Texas to get his bachelor’s degree. But during his bachelor’s studies, he felt unsatisfied with what he was doing. Bill dropped out of the college and started doing odd jobs such as a tourist guide and later a DJ, in a night club.
While working as a DJ he explored being a stand-up comedian, and he loved the work. Finally, in 1990, Bill decided to take up stand-up comedy and got the opportunity to host the show A Pair of Jokers. He performed in various shows such as The Golden Palace, An Evening at The Improv, The Tonight Show, and Late Show with David Letterman until he got his big project Delta, an American comedy series. In 1992 he was awarded as the Best Male Stand-up by the American Comedy Awards. After working in several shows, he gave his debut Here’s Your Sign, which were placed #5 in the Billboard country chart.
There was no turn backs after this for Bill. He became a part of the Blue Collar Comedy tour and reached great peaks with the team. In 2011 he started hosting a TV game show Lingo. In 2013, Bill was seen dancing with Emma Slater in the show Dancing with the Stars. Through the years, Bill has been seeing exploring fields and enjoying all of his works, whether it is comic, acting, or dancing. Talking about his personal life, Bill is married to Gail Engvall in 1960 and has a son and a daughter.
