He went to the University of New Hampshire, where he performed in numerous theatrical productions. His portrayal of Londo Mollari in ‘Babylon 5’ had earned him the Best Supporting Actor in a Genre TV series in 1996.

He commenced his professional vocation as a theatrical performer in New York's off-Broadway plays, then in travels and smaller theatres around the east coast. In 1975, he relocated to Los Angeles, which marked the beginning of his twenty-five-year-long career as a character player that included work in theatres, nightclub humour, occasionally in feature films, and most notably on television. He has done numerous cameos across both comedies and dramas as well.

Jurasik also appeared as Mitch Kline in the finite CBS series ‘Bay City Blues in 1983’ and as Dr Simon Ward in the ‘Columbo’ episode titled "Sex and the Married Detective" in 1989. At present, Peter Jurasik resides in Wilmington, North Carolina, with his wife and child, and teaches acting for the screen to aspirants at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington's Theatre and Film Studies departments.
