An actor who says, “When I work, I like to just kind of stay quiet, stay to myself. I like to walk around a lot and figure out what's going to happen in the scene and try to get my head straight”, is one of the Korean descent- Kenneth Choi. Choi has always envisioned becoming an actor since childhood. He is an American-born promising actor who is reaching peaks of popularity. Kenneth is renowned for his role of soldier Jim Morita in the superhero movie Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) and Chester Ming in The Wolf of Wall Street (2013).
Going against your family's dreams and pursuing your passion calls for a lot of courage, and this artist did that and see how far he has come. Ken was born in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, to Korean immigrants. Choi is the second born child among three children in the family. He finished his schooling at Homewood-Flossmoor High School. Like any other parent, they always restrained him from following his dreams and desired him to pursue a ‘reliable and respectable’ career like accounting. He attended Purdue University and majored in accounting. But later, he ran away from his home, cutting off all the ties from the family to go after his dreams. Ken said, "I came from a very traditional Asian upbringing, so they were very strict. When I decided to pursue acting, I knew that I had to do it all independently. When I left the Midwest, I cut all ties with my family. I ran away,” in an interview.
