He was born on September 9, 1971, in Kansas City, Kansas, USA, to Jamey Anne, a teacher's aide, and Vincent Anthony "Vince" Stonestreet, owner of a retail business. Eric completed his schooling at a prestigious school of the country, Piper High School. Later, he went to the Kansas State University, Manhattan, United States, and graduated with a degree in sociology in 1996. He has wanted to be a clown since his childhood, and therefore, he made up a clown character titled Fizbo and used to perform at 6-and 7-year-olds' birthday parties in his early ages. To begin his acting career, he enrolled in Improv Olympic and The Second City Training Center in Chicago and finally switched to Los Angeles to kickstart his professional acting career.
Soon, he made his debut in the industry with ‘Almost Famous’ by portraying desk clerk Sheldon. He began appearing in several movies as Dr. Benson in ‘Girls Will Be Girls’, Ed the Trucker in ‘The Island’, and Courtney's Neighbor in ‘Ninja Cheerleaders’.
