Brian Cox is a Scottish actor who was born on 1st June 1946. His complete name is Brian Denis Cox CBE. He is a known and trained Shakespearean actor who has acted in theatres, television, films, etc, as a leading character & supporting character. He received his training at the Dundee Repertory Theatre, and after that, he founded the Royal Lyceum Theatre. Brian Cox worked as a trained Shakespearean actor for the Royal National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company. He has received two awards, Laurence Olivier Award, for the category of best actor in Rat in the Skull (1984) for the Royal Court and Titus Andronicus (1988).
Besides this, he has received many other nominations for Misalliance (1986) and Fashion (1988). Brian Cox has been honoured many times through different magazines and was awarded the "Empire Icon Award in 2006" by Empire Magazine. The UK Film Council also honoured him as "one of the top 10 powerful British film stars in Hollywood in 2007." Brian Cox has also worked for BBC/BBC Radio 4, covering the leading character for the series McLevy (1999–2016). After this, he portrayed the role of Alec Leamas in The Spy Who Came in from the Cold (2009). Brian Cox has also worked in Dead Ringers: Series 18 (2018). He also has a particular character for The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim (2024).
