Plot

Two dance teams Street Dancers and Rule Breakers had been the rivals for a long time. They had always wished to prove their talent and wanted to rule the other team and hence they had to lock horns frequently. But to prove their superiority, they had to compete in a dance competition that is popular worldwide. However, they have some individual ideas about their life and how it changes the captains of both the teams Sahej and Inayat forms the plot.

Star Performance

Shraddha Kapoor and Varun Dhawan played excellently with the given roles and they are very much flexible and excelled in the dance performances. Their hard work had brought the fruit of success.

Analysis

Although the base script is not new, it is the screenplay and narration that takes the movie to the next level. The dance movie is directed by Remo D'Souza, who is the choreographer turned director like Prabhu Deva. The dance forms used in the film are fantastic. They have mixed krump, jazz, popping, afro, urban, slow mo and contemporary dance forms. Varun’s character is neatly scripted with a lot of sentiments. Shraddha’s role is also equally good. The movie has good VFX effects and the songs are neat too. The surprise in the film is Prabhu Deva’s performance and he steals the show with his excellent dance movements. Although it is a dance movie, it should have been edited for 15 to 20 minutes to get a crisp movie experience. Some of the songs should have been omitted. However, this would be interesting for the dance genre movie lovers.

Verdict

With the usual story, the director has brought a good movie with his neat screenplay and execution. This film will be a good treat for the music dance drama lovers.
