Plot
Balbirsingh is an industrialist based in Delhi. Ranvijay, Balbir’s son, who has been longing for his father’s love, grows too violent. Reet is his elder sister. When she was bullied at school, he threatened the bullies with a gun. This made his father put him in a boarding school in the US. After completing his studies, he returns to India. He had a tiff with his brother-in-law, which made Balbir send him out of the house. Ranvijay marries Geetanjali and settles in the US. The couple give birth to two kids. After eight years, when Ranvijay learns about the murder attempt on his father, he returns home with his family. What did he do to find out the assassin’s identity? The rest of the film explores the other side of Vijay’s family.
Star Performance
Ranbir Kapoor is present throughout the film, while the rest of the stars are given rest. Anil Kapoor is used in a couple of scenes. Rashmika Mandanna’s Hindi pronunciation needs to be improved. The actresses are used for template purposes.
Analysis
It looks like the director relied only on Ranbir Kapoor’s stardom. Though his character has various dimensions, it may not impress the regular audience, who don’t like violent films. Though Ranbir has fulfilled the director’s Ranvijay, this is not his cup of tea. His talent and charisma deserve better roles. Though Ranvijay loves his Balbir and yearns for his love, the father-son portions are not explored well. The visuals are good, but the editing should have been better. The BGM is okay.
