Tanishk Bagchi is an Indian music composer and singer. He is 5'-7" (170 cms) tall and weighs about 60kg (152 lbs). He has brown eyes and dark black hair. His hometown is Kolkata, West Bengal. He went to Scottish Church Collegiate School, Kolkata, India. As a child, he was never interested in music. His father Nandakumar Das learned guitar from various points. Then he came to Kolkata and met his mother, who used to play Hawaiian guitar. Tanishk believes that music brought his parents together. Tanishk’s father began his career with composer Salil Choudhury and further collaborated with famous celebrities like Satyajit Ray, R.D. Burman, and Illayraja. Tanishk made his debut stage performance with a guitar when he was only 8.
He performed a RabindraSangeet composition which his mother taught him, and since that day he never looked back. His first breakthrough was through television reality shows and daily soaps like 'Dance India Dance' and 'ThapkiPyar Ki' where he used to produce and arrange music. His first project in Bollywood dates back to Khakee in which he co-programmed the song "AisaJaaduDaala Re." Tanishk with his lyricist-composer friend Vayu made a song called "OoparOopar" and uploaded it on YouTube. The song caught the attention of director Anand L Rai who liked the composition and asked the duo to compose a brand new song for his movie
Tanu Weds Manu Returns.
That's how the duo Tanishk- Vayu gave their debut chartbuster hit tune “Banno” (for Tanu Weds Manu Returns) which ultimately gave him recognition and stardom.
