MORE CAST & CREW
It is the policy of Kamal Haasan to act in a comedy film after doing one or two serious films. And one very well knows about Kamal’s flair for comedy. Now let’s delve into Thenali, directed by the King of Commercial entertainer, K S Ravikumar.
Kamal Haasan, who hails from Sri Lanka, is afraid of anything in the world. He doesn’t have specific fear, he is just “afraid”. And to add spice to the story there is rivalry between two psychiatrists, Delhi Ganesh and Jayaram. With the idea of damaging the reputation of Jayaram, Delhi Ganesh sends the seemingly incurable Kamal to him for treatment. Is Kamal given adequate treatment? Are all his phobias cured? Watch the movie to know.
You cannot but be in awe of Kamal’s acting skill while he portrays the role of Thenali from Srilanka. He excels in all the scenes especially the one in which he is being interviewed by a famous channel. Jayaram stuns us with his negative-turned-positive role while Jyothika does her part well. The rest of the cast including Devayani, Delhi Ganesh, Ramesh Khanna, are convincing.
Director K S Ravikumar has the knack of lacing the right dosage of comedy with action and sentiments. He has done a neat job in executing the film.
What’s not there?
The flashback as to why Kamal has so many phobias could have been more intense.
An above-average comedy movie.
