“Seven” is scripted and directed by Nizar Shafi. The film has “ Rahman,” “Havish,” Nandita Swetha, Regina Cassandra, Anisha Ambrose, Pujita Ponnada, Tridha Choudhury and Adithi Arya. Director Nizar Shafi cranked the camera and “ K L Praveen” is the editor. Chaitan Bhardwaj composed the music. Ramesh Varma and Kiran Talasila produced the film.

Plot

Ramya files a complaint in the police station that her husband Karthik is missing. She explains the situation and tells the cop from when her husband has gone missing. After getting information from her, the cop reveals shocking information that already a lady named Jennie complained that her husband is missing and it is the same person, whom Ramya mentioned. When they haven’t come out from the shock, Priya a lady files a complaint that her husband is missing and it is none other than the same person. Now, the cop finds that the person is a fraudster. Meanwhile, a mentally challenged person states that Karthik died decades ago. This confuses the police. At that time they don’t know there are lots of shocking details waiting for them! Watch the film to know the rest!

Star Performance

This is not a different role for Rahman and he has done his best, as usual. Regina Cassandra is the other good performer in this film. Nandita and the other stars had given an okayish performance.

Analysis

While reading the story, it looks good. But, the execution part is weak. There a lot of logical loopholes and hence the audiences find it hard to believe the plot. Although the director had brought some twists towards the end, the audiences are not in the mood to accept, as they have already fed up with the making. The characterization should have been developed well. The cinematography is good. The film seems to be a dubbed one in certain scenes as the stars' lip-synching doesn’t match the voice.

What’s There?

  • Performances are good
  • Plot is impressive

What’s Not There?

  • Execution needs expertise
  • Logical loopholes spoil the plot

Verdict

If the execution had been better, we could have strongly recommended the film.
