Plot
Raghu and Rituparna fall in love but Rituparma’s father is strict and is against the relationship. To win his heart over Raghu tries to show his caliber.
Star performance
As for the debut film both the leads deliver a decent performance, Namashi and Amrin share good chemistry. The rest of the actors are all veterans and are experienced in their craft and are carrying the film on their shoulders. Saswata Chatterjee has played the annoying uptight dad and gives a pleasant performance in this film as well. The actor is mainly known for villain roles but has tried something new, and it's good to see. Rajesh Sharma has given a grounded performance.
Analysis
The film is a typical romcom you’ve seen in the 90s and the early 2000s. Rajkumar Santoshi is known for dabbing into several genres from, Ghayal to Andaaz Apna Apna from The Legend Of Bhagat Singh to Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. Since the last mentioned film the director is struggling to make a hit film. This film offers nothing new and is a typical 90s romantic comedy. There is nothing wrong in setting up the story in the 90s but the film is made in today’s time and again a boomer director is struggling to connect with today’s generation. Outdated tropes like beating the goons to impress the girl, a cultured girl who only unravels her other side with the hero and so on. The comedic actors like Johnny Lever and Rajpal Yadav are honestly painful. They both are screaming at the top of their lungs. The jokes they have been given are still stuck in the 90s and it's hard to watch. Even if they went with the nostalgia factor this film lacks in that also. The film is neither funny nor romantic. Rajkumar Santoshi has made successful romantic comedies but seems to have lost touch. The music is forgettable and is not even shot well. Bad Boy is a forgettable, cliched romantic comedy.

Verdict
Bad Boy would be okay or passable if a new director had made the film but an experienced director like Rajkumar Santoshi making a film like this is a huge disappointment. The film can be watched on a random binge.
