He was born on the 22nd of October 1937 in Kabul, Afghanistan, and died on the 31st of December 2018 in Toronto, Canada. He made his film debut with the movie Daag in 1973 and has starred in more than 300 Bollywood films. He has received Filmfare Awards in various categories, Sahitya Shiromani Award, and Padma Shri.
