Vashu Bhagnani

Vashu Bhagnani was born on 19th of April in Kolkata, West Bengali, India. His father is Lilaram Bhagnani and he is a well-known film producer in Hindi cinema. Vashu Bhagnani is also a film producer and he has produced over 20 movies. He is married to Pooja Bhagnani. Pooja and Vashu have two kids named Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshika Deshmukh. His son Jackky is an Indian actor working in Bollywood films. Well-known politician, Dheeraj Deshmukh is his son in law. Vashu began his career as a Bollywood film producer in 1995.

His very first movie was “Coolie No.1”, starring Govinda, Kadar Khan, Karishma Kapoor and Shakthi Kapoor. Coolie No.1 was a box-office record and was a commercial success. In 1995, he launched a production company named “Pooja Entertainment India Limited”. It is a well-known production firm in India today. In the year 1997, he produced his second film named “Hero No.1”. Again he selected Govinda and Karishma Kapoor for the leading roles. Hero No.1 also became a highly successful film in Bollywood cinema.

Followed by the success achieved with his two films, he produced another two films in the year 1998 and 1999. They are “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” and “Biwi No.1”. In Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Bollywood superstars such as Amithabh Bachchan, Govinda, Anupam Kher and Raveena Tandon appeared. This movie has been the first hit of Amitabh Bachchan at the box office since his comeback after a few years of hiatus from Bollywood. This movie was the second highest grosser of the year after “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai”. The consecutive success gained by all the films established the name of Vashu Bhagnani as a star film producer.

Biwi No.1 is a comedy film, which was released in 1999 and starred Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Sushmita Sen and Anil Kapoor. The film became an overnight hit and brought luck for Vashu once again. In the year 2009, he introduced his son Jackky Bhagnani to Bollywood cinema by film named “Kal Kissne Dekha”. Some of his recently produced movies are F.A.L.T.U , Ajab Gazabb Love , Rangrezz , Youngistaan and Welcome to Karachi. Jackky Bhagnani played the main role of these movies.
