Farhad Shahnawaz is a prominent Indian dancer, model turned actor. He was born on September 28, 1980 to a Muslim family. He is the youngest son of a merchant navy and a plain housewife. He studied at St. Mary’s Degree College in Hyderabad and took up B.A. Mass Communication and Journalism.Â
Farhad got his fame after bagging the role of Rammy in the popular drama soap, Sanskaar – Dharohar Apnon Ki on Colors TV. Besides modelling and acting, Farhad is a great dancer too. He joined and became the winner of Sony TV’s
Boogie Woogie
in year 1994.
He joined the Indian magazine’s Gladrags Manhunt Contest and won the 3rd runner up place and the Best Personality award in 2004, which turned out to be a major breakthrough on his career. After the Gladrags Manhunt Contest, many doors opened for Farhad. He started doing several shows and model for different brands and accessories. He did a ramp show for the Lakme Fashion Week in 2005. But later, he suffered a major injury on his spinal and the doctor said his career is over. But being a very optimistic type of person, he gets up and hit the gym. After some months of hardship and pain, finally, he gets back into shape.Â
He came back and became the showstopper for the notable fashion designer,
Sabyasachi Mukherjee
in 2008’s Lakme Fashion Week. Since then, he had the opportunities to work with the top designers including Asmita Mawa,
Narendra Kumar
, Rocky S and more. He became the Chi’s (Farouk Systems) model. He is also the Brand Ambassador of products like Kalaniketan and Nokia Champions. In 2013, he became a jury in the Times of India Fresh Face Clean and Clear.
He was also introduced as an actor in the Telugu film, Relax in 2005. Later, he essayed the role of a master dance instructor in the Telugu film, Style in 2006. This is a big budget film that stars some of the popular names in the Telugu industry. He is currently filming the Telugu musical film, Rey which was under the direction and production of
YVS Chowdary
. He played a pivotal role in this film along with Sai Dharam,
Saiyami Kher
and Shraddha Das.Â
Farhad wants to be a popular model and at the same time, he is also interested in doing a negative role in the Bollywood industry. He thinks that a negative character will suit him.
