The renowned actor of Bollywood went into trouble after 1993 serial bomb blasts in Mumbai. He was arrested for illegal possession of firearms, under TADA but was released on bail. The case opened in the court in 2006, and he spent seven months in jail between 2006-07. Dutt was re-sentenced to six years of rigorous imprisonment in July 2007 by TADA court. On his appeal against the sentence, he was granted interim bail. In 2013, he was asked by Supreme Court to surrender before the law and on 14 may, 2013 he went back to jail to serve his jail term of reduced five years. He got finally cleared of all the charges and punishment after completing his jail term on 25 February 2016.
