Jiah Khan was a British-American actress, singer and dancer. She was born in a Muslim family in New York City on February 20, 1988 and was christened Nafisa Rizvi Khan. Her father Ali Rizal Khan was an Indian American and her mother was Rabia Amin a Hindi film actress from Agra. She completed her education in London and then relocated to Mumbai to make her career in Bollywood. She was inspired to join Mumbai film industry after seeing the Ram Opal Verma movie Rangeela at the age of six.
She was a trained opera singer and had cut six albums in London. She was trained in dance forms like Belly Dancing, Salsa, kathak and reggae.
She approached Ram Gopal Verma for acting assignment and was cast in Nishabd against
Amitabh Bachchan. The film was based on the relation of an old man with a teenager and was considered controversial due to it’s content, she was welcomed as a fresh face for her attitude and sex appeal. She was nominated for Film fare Award for the best debut in 2007 for this movie. In 2008, she appeared in Ghajini with
Aamir Khan and Asin which was the highest grosser of the year. The success of Ghajini made her front-line actors in Bollywood and there were numerous offers given to her after this movie. She also appeared in Sajid Khan’s movie ' Housefull' which was again a grand success at the box office.
Unfortunately, she was found dead in her flat on June 3, 2013 and apparently hung herself to death. Her death is shrouded in mystery even today.

Jiah Khan committed suicide by hanging herself to the ceiling fan of her bedroom in Juhu, Mumbai. Her mother later accused
Sooraj Pancholi as the reason for her death. She stated that Sooraj also forced her for an abortion. The Bollywood industry indeed misses Jiah Khan.
