Hindi Commentator Navjot Singh Sidhu

Navjot Singh Sidhu was born on October 20, 1963 in Patiala, Punjab, India. Navjot belongs to the family of Sardar Bhagwant Singh Sidhu of Patiala. He was often called as Sixer Sidhu or Sheri Paaji. He was a former cricket player and hoping that his son, Navjot will also be a top-class cricket player, he groomed it in one of the top cricketers in India. He was also one of the Parliament member from Amritsar (Lok Sabha constituency) in 2004 under Bharatiya Janata Party ticket. When he resigned as a cricket player, he became a commentator on TV, and enter politics. Then, in 2006, Navjot was convicted with a homicide case because of a road rage accident, then gave up his political career. However, Navjot’s sentence was suspended by the Supreme Court in India. He got the by-election for the Amritsar Lok Sabha seat. He won over the State Finance Minister Surinder Singla garnering a 77,626 votes. 

Navjot was also the president of the World Jat Aryan Foundation. He was married to Navjot Kaur Sidhu, one of the members of the Punjab Legislative Assembly. Navjot is also eligible for becoming a lawyer at the Punjabi University. He once promised that he will never set his foot on the soil of Patiala and will stick in the Amritsar as long as he is representing the people there. He did not come back even when his father-in-law died and when his friend, Judge Vijay Singh was cremated. But he visited in Patiala after his resignation from his seat.

Navjot began his career as a commentator in 2001, when India visited Sri Lanka on the takeshis castle sport. Later on, he worked as a commentator in ESPN Start Sports. He became popular for his one-liners, which people called as “Sidhuisms”. He also worked in Ten Sports, and became a cricket analyst on some Indian news channel.
