Shiney Ahuja was born on May 15, 1975, to Suraj Prakash Ahuja and Seema Ahuja. His father was a Colonel. Shiney did his schooling in Army schools across the country. Ahuja developed his interest in acting at Hansraj College, Delhi University. He further developed his interest in acting by attending National School of Drama. He started his career as a model and then continued in modeling for some time. After completing his college, Ahuja first secured his first commercial ad for Pepsi. Ahuja made a right choice by choosing the role of Vikram Malhotra because the character fetched him various awards which include Filmfare Award for Best Debut Male. This movie gave him nation-wide recognition. After that, he acted in a movie called

In the year 2009, he was accused of raping his maid who was 18 years old. He argued that the sex was consensual. The maid retracted the charges and said that the act was consensual. The Trail Court refused to accept the retraction. He furthered appealed to the High Court, and several hearings have been conducted after that. After this controversy, Ahuja didn’t get chance to act in many films.

Shiney Ahuja was born on the 15th of May, 1975 in Dehradun, Uttarakhand to Colonel Suraj Prakash Ahuja and Seema Ahuja. Being the son of an officer of the Indian Army, Ahuja received his early education from a number of army schools across country. This was followed by as many as 40 ad-films that year including Cadbury’s and Citi Bank. He also appeared in the music video of ‘Pyar ho Gaya’ by the band ‘Stereo Nation’.
He debuted into Bollywood with the movie ‘Hazaaron Khwahishein Aisi’ directed by Sudhir Mishra. His exceptional performance in the movie fetched him an IIFA and Filmfare award for Best Actor (Debut) along with three others.
He went on to become one of the most popular actors of the industry and appeared in movies like Anurag Basu's romantic crime drama ‘Gangster’, Mohit Suri's ‘
’, ‘Life in a Metro’ and also the blockbuster thriller-comedy ‘
He had a break from Bollywood following the controversy which led to his imprisonment in the year of 2009.
