Rashid Farooqui is a very talented actor hailing from Karachi, Pakistan. He was born on 5th May 1975. Rashid did his schooling from Government High School, Karachi. He had a keen interest in theater drama right from his childhood days. Therefore, he joined the National Academy of Performing Arts to pursue a career and to choose what he loves to do. He then started his occupation as an actor for theater dramas and television series. He officially kicked off with a short drama and tragedy film called “Shahrukh Khan Ki Maut”. He was Ustad Manzoor in the film. In a short span of time, the short film was a super hit. He then appeared in “Too Late the Reformer.” He went on to do various television shows like ‘Moorat’, ‘Manzil’, ‘Man-o-Salwa’ and ‘Makan’. Many of them enjoyed to watch him on screen in most of his character roles.

His personal favorite role is that of a father. In 2008, Rashid made a debut appearance in a drama film called “Ramchand Pakistani”, which was one of the directorial ventures by Mehreen Jabbar. In the film, Rashid was Shankar opposite to Champa. Beautiful Nandita Das acted as Champa in the film. The film was fabulously directed. Rashid and Nandita were amazing with their brilliant acting skills. The film did so well that Rashid was nominated for Best Actor (Male) in Lux Style Awards. Even today, he is known for his star performance in that movie. With a lot of recognitions in Lollywood industry, he got offers to do more films and appear in television. He started with a short film called “Insha'Allah”. Then, followed by two other films called “Maalik” and “Zindagi Kitni Haseen Hai”. His performance in Maalik is known to be amazing.

The movie shows the reality they say! And his romantic movie amounted to a collection of Rs6.50 crore in the Box Office. Rashid has worked with reputed channels like Geo Entertainment, PTV Home, Hum TV, ARY Digital, etc. He has been a part of various television drama shows like Meri Zaat Zarra-e-Benishan, Khushboo Ka Ghar, Choti Si Kahani, Jal Pari, Mohabat Subh Ka Sitara Hai, Zindagi Dhoop Tum Ghana Saya, Meray Khwab Raiza Raiza, Haya Ke Daaman Main, Nanhi, Rehaai, Zeenat Bint-e-Sakina Hazir Ho, Riyasat, Zara Yaad Kar, etc. He is indeed a complete drama star. He is now working on few upcoming appearances as lead and supporting roles in the movies.
