Ayushmann In A ‘spy Comedy’?

Ayushmann Khurrana is changing gears again.

This time, he will be a part of a spy comedy. Yes, you read that right. According to the recent reports, Ayushmann Khurrana will be a part of a spy comedy movie, which will be backed jointly by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment. Spy comedies are rare in Indian cinema, and Karan Johar hopes to make a trendsetter with the upcoming project.

The movie will be directed by Aakash Kaushik, who has written screenplays for films like ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’, ‘Housefull 4’, ‘Thank God’, etc. There are talks that Sara Ali Khan would play the lead actress, though an official confirmation is yet to be made.

For Ayushmann, it is now or never. He might have stopped his successive failures with ‘Dream Girl 2’, but it’s been more than 5 years since he last gave a clean hit. In 2019, Ayushmann had delivered one hit after another with films like ‘Article 15’, ‘Dream Girl’, ‘Bala’, etc. However, post COVID, he has hardly seen any success.

On the other hand, the fate of Sara Ali Khan is way worse. Except for her debut ‘Kedarnath’ and ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’, her recent attempts to bring a makeover have mostly ended in a disaster, the latest one being the OTT movie ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’.
