Satyajit Padhye

The talented and hilarious, Satyajit Padhye is one of the rare kinds. He is a puppeteer, a puppet maker and a third generation ventriloquist. He has a sibling, Parikshit Padhye, who also follows his brother’s footsteps as a puppeteer and ventriloquist. His grandfather, Y. K. Padhye was also a ventriloquist and a pioneer at that who popularised this art in India. Satyajit later popularized it in media and television.

He started learning this unique art form at the mere age of eight. His first performance was at the age of 12. He studied at the R. A. Podar College of Commerce and Economics in Matunga, where he won several prizes using his skills. At the age of 13, he assisted his father for a play called “Good Night Baby Dino” in 1983. He was also a protagonist for the play Hats off in 1997. Along with his father, he starred in many films like Dil Hain Tumhaara, television series, plays and advertisements.

He did a television series for Disney channel and another channel which airs in Singapore. He is the lead puppeteer “Juicy Pammi” a Celebrity Puppet Show, where his puppet was named Juicy Pammi. He also represented India at the Japan Ventriloquist Festival, in Tokyo. Using his talents, he became the finalist for India’s Got Talent. He and his puppet also took part in the popular TV Quiz show, Kaun Banega Crorepati.
