G. Ramachandran also known as G.R. was an Indian film producer, actor and writer. He primarily works in the Tamil and Kannada film industry. His first wife, Jameela died due to cancer and his second wife, R. P. Poorani died due a cardiac arrest. In 1960, he made his debut as a child artiste in the film Kalathur Kannamma, an Indian Tamil-language romantic-drama directed by A. Bhimsingh. He produced under the production banner, GR Gold Films. In early 2000s, he worked as a film producer and funded multiple Tamil films such as Manu Needhi (2000),

(2004) and many more. G.R. died in the year 2021 due to Covid-19 on 2 June 2021, at the age of 73. He was survived by three sons and a daughter, namely, Haseena, Sulaiman, Siva Kumar and Saamy Kumar.
