Kumaresh started learning music when he was two years old. In an interview, Kumaresh talked about Chocolate Melodies, the desire to sensitize youngsters to Indian music, and his innovations during the lockdown. Kumaresh, a recipient of the Sangeet Natak Academy award, has a great musical career heading towards 50 years. As a child prodigy, his first performance was when he was barely five years and completed his 100th stage concert just before he was 10.
