Her talents unique voice, humor and rapid speaking rate, Tamil slang made her popular. She is not only an RJ but also active in other fields such as emceeing, social media, television and films and involved in many other social causes.
She presents all the issues in an entertaining manner which makes all audience to love her. She was born on 19 November 1983. She is from a middle class family where her father is retired Traffic Manager of Metropolitan Transport Corporation and her mother works for Bharat Petroleum.
She did her schooling at Holy Angels Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School, T. Nagar and graduated in commerce from Stella Maris College. She had done her post-graduation in mass communication from M.O.P Vaishnav College for women. She joined 92.7 Big FM in June 2006 and continued for 6 years. Then in 2013 she moved to 94.3 Radio One. Later she had done their evening prime-time show for two years. Later, she moved on to host Comedyil Kalakkuvathu Eppadi, a weekly skit-based comedy show on Star Vijay. Right now, she works as a freelancer. She won Best Female RJ award, Ananda Vikas Anand Best Tamil RJ - Indian Radio Forum in 2009. She also won Women Exclusive Award, Best Show after 11 am - Indian Radio Forum and Best Tamil RJ - Indian Radio Forum in 2010.
Recently she again won Best Female RJ - Ananda Vikatan and also Best Female RJ - Raindrops Women Achievers Award in 2012. Recently she hosted a show ‘Big Imsai’ conducted by BIG FM. The main purpose of this show is to make awareness, among the people, about the life and the struggles of labourers so that a change will occur in society.
For this they selected the popular RJ’s where RJ Ophelia is also one of them in which she was a petrol bunk attender. Recently she gave an interview which was published in The New Indian Express, titled as ‘A perfect blend of pudhumai and pazhamai’.
