Dharani Dharan is an Indian screenplay writer, director, and producer who predominantly worked in Tamil film Industry. He was born in Poonamallie, Chennai, in Tamilnadu, in India. He is very good at studies and also done his Post Graduation in Business Administration. Despite being highly educated and having well settled with a good paying job, he wasn’t satisfied. Before his venture into Tamil film industry, he was working as an IT professional in a top IT company.

Dharani Dharan started his directorial debut in 2014 through the Tamil crime thriller- comedy movie ‘Burma’. With his script, he approached so many top-notch heroes with the proposal of the lead role in his movie but some of them didn’t like the script because that was not produced by a famous studio and some of them didn’t believe in his script.

One month before the actual shooting, Dharani shot every scene of the film on a 5D camera with Michel Thangadurai to make him familiar with the character. He approached a BMW team for a Luxury vehicle which was needed in film and after seeing his script, they were so impressed that they lent a BMW X6 worth 1.5 crores for the shoot.

‘Burma’ was released on 12 September 2014 and collected average in the box-office.
