Here is a girl who met with a major accident while she was travelling near Trichy in Tamil Nadu, lost one of her legs but never gave that as an excuse to stop her dancing rather attached a prosthetic Jaipur leg and came back with a josh and acted as dancer in a film called Mayuri. Isn’t that a wonderful story which boosts one’s confidence level. That’s Sudha Chandran, a sysnonym for WILL POWER.
Born in Kerala, to Mr Chandran and Mrs. Thangam, on September 27 1965, Sudha did her schooling and degree and PG in Mumbai. Meanwhile she learnt Bharathanatyam and Kathak also. She is such an ace dancer that she has her own dance school Natya Mayuri Sudha Chandran Dance Academy in Mumbai.
After her accident she went back and did lots of dance shows in and around the world when media projected her story, she got the chance to do the lead role of Mayuri in Nache Mayuri. It was her own story and she won an award for that movie. Later she acted in many hindi telugu and tamil films when she got a break through in Television in a Hindi serial. , Thedral, Jaiyam, Kalasam etc. In Jaiyam she acted as a very strong willed aristocratic woman who lives and Thanjavur and later moves to Chennai. She acted in negative roles is Thendral and Kalasam and as a lawyer in Arasi. Her negative roles are spoken about among Tamil audience. A national award winner and a winner of best actress in negative role, Sudha is a very busy artist flying between Mumbai and Chennai to cope up with her work and dance school. Apart from serials she has performed in few dance reality shows and has been a Jury in some shows too. She got married to Ravi Dang in 1995.
Sudha Chandran is one artist who is looked upon for her heavy costumes and make up in all of the serials she is appearing. She is conducting many classical dance shows in dance festivals apart from Bollywood dance shows.
