. Rajasekhar was the director of almost all of Rajnikanth's mid to late 80s blockbusters like Thambikku Entha Ooru, Padikkadavan, Maapillai, and Dharma Dorai. He directed Malaiyoor Mambattiyan.
His only movie that did not do well in the box office was Maaveeran. Silver jubilee hit movie Eetti, and Cooliekkaran’s director was Rajashekar. He died shortly before the hundred days celebration of his last film Dharma Dorai in an accident in the year 1991. He was also the director of movie Vikram, which was the first Tamil film to cross budget of rupees one crore and Kakki Chattai, the cult entertainer.
