Chimbu Deven

Chimbu Deven was born in Madurai. His parents were Mr. Venkataraman, who was a supervisor by profession in the telegraph office and to Mrs. Thiraviam Venkataraman. He was the second child to the couple, who has also pursued the education in the field of Botany from Madurai Kamaraj University.

He was initially named as Senthilkumar, which was later changed. He was married to Kalaivani, whom he later divorced. Devan has made his mark in directing films associated with the genre of fantasy. He made his first directional debut with Imsai Arasan 23rd Pulikesi, which was basically a comedy venture. He had cast Vadivelu, who played the lead in that film. This movie geared his journey in the world of Tamil films. Initially, he had started off assisting director Cheran. He worked as an assistant director in Cheran’s film Vetri Kodi Kattu. After that, S. Shankar offered him the opportunity to work in his production.

He was so impressed by the story that he immediately wanted Imsai Arasan 23rd Pulikesi to be shot! Then continued his works with S Pictures with his fantasy-comedy film, Arai En 305-il Kadavul, the English of which it means God in Room No. 305. In this film, he had cast Santhanam and Ganja Karrupu in the main roles.
