Selvan considered the planning of a flower gown (made up of real florets) and chocolate dresses as the difficult part of the shoot. In fact, his family helped Tamil to design the required clothes for the sequence of Kadhal Casatta in this project. Selvan admitted that he got surprised to know that Shankar was the co-producer of Kappal. He felt happy about the fact that his debut big-screen venture would release under S pictures. Tamil Selvan acknowledged the team’s support to allow Selvan to work creatively. Sonam Bajwa praised the designer for his work and preferred his costumes to that of Bollywood ones. Selvan stated that his ancestors were tailors which helped him to learn the fundamentals of the art of tailoring. Selvan admitted to having fears of discrimination as he had a flawed command over English but everyone backed Selvan’s skills when he entered the industry.
