N K Ekambaram

N. K. Ekambaram is a famous cinematographer. The well-known cinematographer associates with many Bollywood and Southern films. He is mesmerizing his audience, with his work since 2000. He is born on 30^th March 1972, in the city of Thiruthuraipoondi in Thiruvarur. The place is close to Tamil Nadu. He gained all of his experience after reaching Chennai.

Even after doing B. Tech in IT stream,  he was not at all interested in undertaking an occupation that needs him to sit for 24-hours in front of an idiot-box and do nothing.  That’s why he finally chose to run after his goals. These dreams took him towards becoming one of the most successful cinematographers the industry has ever produced.

Apparently, traveling also happens to be his hobbies (who does not want to travel). He learned cinematography from the Film and Television Institute of Tamil Nadu. Thamizhan is one of his first works with which he started his career; it was released in 2002. After that, he worked with many big names and cooperated with them to make his mark.

He collaborated with Priyadarshan initially for, Vettam, a Malayalam movie. His latest movie Oppam is a crime-thriller that showcases Jayaraman Mohanlal as a lift operator and porter in an apartment block. He is the most loyal friend of Justice Krishnamoorthy (Venu). He takes care of his daughter, a schoolgirl Nandini (Meenakshi).

When the murderers kill Krishnamoorthy, they frame Jayaram. But, he must protect the innocent child from the murderers and prove his innocence before these men get the daughter. Oppam was a massive hit and grossed a total box office collection of over 650 million ($10 million) and made a worldwide grossing of 70 million ($1.1 million). The film became so popular that it’s remade in two other regional languages. In Telugu, it was dubbed and released by the name of Kanupapa on 3^rd February 2017 and in Kannada, it was remade by the name of  Kavacha.
