Hailing from a small town Basar in Arunachal Pradesh, Kendy Zirdo never thought she would be a part of the Malayalam film industry. Kendy had never watched any South Indian movie before getting the role in the sci-fi Malayalam comedy ‘Android Kunjappan version 5.25’. Kendy played the role of a Russia-settled girl named Hitomi, the daughter of a Malayali-Japanese couple. The language barrier acted as a big challenge for her while shooting. But she worked day and night to overcome it. She also wrote her lines in Hindi and English so that she could understand the language better.
She received instant fame after her debut. Kendy was in her final year pursuing a Master’s in Performing Arts at Hyderabad University when her debut film got released (2019). Apart from acting, she had even dubbed her voice, even though she is unfamiliar with Malayalam. Kendy is a stage actress who turned into a film actress and has done various Shakespeare plays and is even a part of Marathi theatre. As there are fewer theatres in her state, she joined Hyderabad University for theatre studies. She also loves to design costumes.
