Bhavya, the leading actress in Kannada film industry, is an acclaimed heroine in Sandalwood. She has played leading roles in over 100 feature films and was in demand as leading heroine till 2000.  Later she got offers to play only character roles and maintained a maturity in her acting prowess. The year 1983 proved to be a lucky year for this versatile actress. She got her first debut in a film ‘Prema Parva’ that was directed by Siddalingaiah.  The film released in 1983 but did not make her get the appreciation that she needed. In the same year, a movie named ‘Praana Snehitha’ gave her strong foothold in Kannada film world. The film was directed by Bhargava and this film had one of the most versatile names like Anant Nag, playing the lead actor. In the same year, she acted with Vishnuvardhan in ‘Kallu Veene Nudiyitu’ and the film was success.  Though 1984 was not a year for this actress to look up at her career, she managed to appear in a most successful film, ‘Baddi Bangaramma’, where she essayed a character of a harassed daughter-in-law. In the same year, she played the most glamorous role of her career in a film named ‘Pralayantaka’ with Ravi Chandran. Also, she appeared as an ultra-modern image on the screen in Pralayanthaka. She even did some stunt scenes in ‘Nee Bareda Kadambari’ and ‘Hrudaya Haaditu’.  However, it was only in 1985 and 1986 she got the opportunity to sign maximum projects in Kannada movies and even acted in a Tamil movie called ‘Geethanjali.' While ‘Geetthanjali’ was super hit for its musical score, another Kannada film ‘Nee Bareda Kadambari’ gave her maximum satisfaction as an actress. Critics and audiences widely praised both the movies (Tamil and Kannada) that had released in1985. In 1987 and 1988, she had 14 releases.  Till the mid-90s, she acted in maximum successful films, but after that as an actress she was sidelined in getting lead roles. Bhavya was a popular actress who acted with most of the top actors in two decades she was active. The versatile actress later joined Congress party in 2014. She gained fame and name even as a character artiste in films like ‘Love U Alia’, ‘Billa’ and ‘Shivam’ (all released in 2015).  She is married to a Gujarati business man Mukesh Patel and is settled in Mumbai. After eight years of her marriage, she tried to make her comeback again. She was only partly successful. She was the queen of Kannada films during the 1980s, till Shruti took the next opportunity. She acted opposite Shankar Nag in a maximum number of films. She has been recognized for her sentimental glamorous roles that she played in ‘Nee Bareda Kadambari’ and ‘Hrudaya Haaditu’. She was born on the 18th, April 1967, in Bengaluru. Another Version Of Bhavya: Bhavya belongs from Kannada was born as Bharathi. She is a South Indian actress. She has acted in multiple Kannada and Tamil film for a long period of over 15 years in the entertainment industry. She worked near about for over 100 feature films as lead actress roles. And she has swapped over to the secondary character roles after 2000. She is now living in Mumbai, India and travels approximately daily to Bangalore for her shoots.Her long and success career. The film actress Bhavya has begun her career with the first film named “Siddalingaiah” directed by Prema Parva and the film has been released in 1983. There was another film named Bhargava directed by Prana Snehitha in the year 1983 where she got a chance for the role which was close to the lead role. This also featured Shankar Nag and Tara together with her and was a regular uncultured at the box-office. She also got the chance as a lead actress in the role in the “Vishnuvardhan” at the opposite role of Kallu Veene Nudiyitu which was released in 1983.In next year that is 1984; she starred in a hit film named “Baddi Bangaramma” where she was in a character of a harassed daughter-in-law. As a totally different role, she acted a very fashionable role in the V. Ravichandran starter Pralayantaka in the 1984. The same year she saw her work widely in countless projects, including the Tamil film “Geethanjali” which was musical hit. The opposite actor was Murali. She was widely celebrated after the biggest break in a Kannada film in the same year named “Nee Bareda Kadambari”. Next this success, Bhavya went on to act in some of commercial hit films named “Krishna Nee Begane Baaro” released in 1986, Sangrama released in 1987, Avale Nanna Hendthi and S. P. Sangliana released in 1988. This is not enough as she worked also for many others in 1990's. She played in the opposite role for all the leading actors for golden 10 years between 1980's and 1990s year. For example the Shankar Nag, Ananth Nag, Vishnuvardhan, Ambareesh, V. Ravichandran, Kashinath, and many of others. From 2004 till date, Bhavya has moved over to character roles generally playing mother role to the lead actors. The hit film Moorkha, hit film Sajini, hit film Monalisa that were the first some films where Bhavya was as a character artist. She has also recruited for some Television serials like Durga.


Advani Lakshmi Devi

Advani Lakshmi Devi is a well-known veteran actress of the Kannada film industry. She has been a part of the film industry for more than 50 years now. She has portrayed many roles such as that of Mother, Vamp, Lead and even Grandmother in some of her films. She has performed in more than 50 films at least. She has a daughter named Roopa Devi, who is also an actress. She too has performed in many Kannada movies and is best known for her roles opposite Dr. Rajkumar in films like Yaarivanu, Haalu Jenu, Eradu Nakshatragalu, etc. Advani Lakshmi Devi started working as an actress in the year 1956 where she worked in a film titled “Bhakta Vijaya” which was the story of a devotee named Vijaya. The film also received an award for being the “Best Feature Film in Kannada”. After that, there was no looking back for Lakshmi Devi. She featured in films like “Gandhada Gudi” and “Sri Srinivasa Kalyana”, where she played the role of a mother and everyone remembers her for that role. Her filmography includes films like “Shukradese” which was about good fortune, “Mangala Suthra” about marriages in India during the 50s, “Mane Thumbida Hennu” about the married life of a woman and so on. She also played the role of Seete in the 1960 film named “Dashavathara”. Her film “Gandhada Gudi” of 1973 had a sequel made in 1994 titled “Gandhada Gudi Part 2”. She had a versatile career in the film industry for many roles that she has portrayed. She was cast as the film lead i.e. leading protagonist, a mother, a wife, a daughter, a daughter-in-law and a grandmother too. She has performed all her roles with dedication and is popular for them till date. Her last movie was “Gandhada Gudi-2” in the year of 1994. After that, she made a comeback as an actress in the year 2003 with her movie “Kutumba”. She is often confused with another actress named M.N. Lakshmi Devi, who is also a star veteran Kannada film actress with a career spanning over 60 years and having 600 films to her credit.
