Niveditha Shiva Rajkumar Is Positive About Sandalwood’s Comeback

Sandalwood is going through a severe crisis for the past one and a half years. However, Niveditha Shiva Rajkumar is not disturbed by it.

The producer recently shared her thoughts about the situation while promoting Vamshi Krishna’s directorial debut Firefly, which is finally releasing by mid-2025. She accepted the situation as it is and remarked that this is a dull phase, from which the industry will come out only when they strive for authentic content.

In 2022, Kannada cinema had struck gold with back to back commercial blockbusters like KGF: Chapter 2, James, 777 Charlie, and Kantara. Though the success ratio had dwindled a bit in 2023, the quality did not subside, especially with movies like Sapta Sagaraadche Ello.

However in 2024, Sandalwood underwent a severe crisis, with barely five to six movies managing to cross the 10 crore mark, let alone earn the tag of a commercial success. If not for Kiccha Sudeep’s MAX, Sandalwood was all set to face the ignominy of not delivering a single blockbuster after a long time.
