Manju Mitra is a Kannada movie director and lyricist well known for
Geetha Bangle Store. He was born in Kuttippuram, Kerala, India in a middle-class family. He received his school level education from Kuttippuram and later did his graduation.
He loved watching movies from his childhood and used to sing songs and take part in skits and plays during his school functions. During his college days, he used to direct plays and was part of his college theatre. He won many prizes for his plays.
He started as a director for Kannada short films and plays. He directed many local plays and theatre drama also. His work was really appreciated in local newspapers and critics gave fair ratings to his plays. Manju Mitra worked as an assistant director in many Kannada movies before making his debut as a director.

He is considered as one of that debutant director who keeps his promise of delivering the best content in his movies. “Geetha Bangle Store” is based on the story of bangle seller’s daughter and a cocoon cultivator’s son, with a drunkard father.
