Tushar Ranganath was an Indian director and screenwriter known for his contributions to Sandalwood, the Kannada film industry. He was born on 31 March 1974 in Bangalore, Karnataka. He wrote as well as directed his first movie “Gulama” (2009), a romantic drama about a love triangle.
He was one of the ten directors responsible for the creation of “Sugreeva” (2010), an action-thriller remake of the American film “John Q” (2002). The movie was shot in just eighteen hours after sixty artists and six hundred junior artists worked diligently from 6 a.m. To 11:55 p.m. On 11 October 2009.
Despite being the quickest film to be made, it failed to get registered in the Guinness Book of World Records since the record is measured for the time span between the starting of production and the date of release in theatres. Tushar has also directed “Kanteerava” (2011) and written the dialogues for R. Anantharaju’s rom-com “Swayamvara” (2010).
He next took up the direction for the romantic action-drama “Prem Adda” (2012). However, midway through the production of the film, Tushar passed away at a premature age on 20 December 2011 due to cardiac arrest. The rest of the direction was completed by Mahesh Babu and the film finally hit the theatres on 30 November 2012.
Manju Mitra is a Kannada movie director and lyricist well known for Geetha Bangle Store. He was born in Kuttippuram, Kerala, India in a middle-class family. He received his school level education from Kuttippuram and later did his graduation.
He loved watching movies from his childhood and used to sing songs and take part in skits and plays during his school functions. During his college days, he used to direct plays and was part of his college theatre. He won many prizes for his plays.
He started as a director for Kannada short films and plays. He directed many local plays and theatre drama also. His work was really appreciated in local newspapers and critics gave fair ratings to his plays. Manju Mitra worked as an assistant director in many Kannada movies before making his debut as a director.
He directed “Geetha Bangle Store,” a Kannada film, starring Panju and Nikesha Patel. He is considered as one of that debutant director who keeps his promise of delivering the best content in his movies. “Geetha Bangle Store” is based on the story of bangle seller’s daughter and a cocoon cultivator’s son, with a drunkard father.
The movie showed the problems regarding caste and class inequalities and other problem that hindered the path of development of society. This all was shown with such a beauty by Manju Mitra. Manju Mitra is also a lyrics writer, and he wrote songs for his movie. He also loves playing musical instruments. Apart from his passion for directing movies, he also loves reading books and spends his free time reading books or traveling around.
